HAMPSHIRE, Ill. (Aug. 17, 2012) — The new book “The Percussionist’s Wife” gives a behind-the-scenes look inside a 2001 teacher sex scandal in Central Minnesota while exploring themes of fidelity, faith and justice.
Written by Hampshire resident Monica Lee, “The Percussionist’s Wife: A Memoir of Sex, Crime & Betrayal” tells the true story of the firing and prosecution of a high school drum line instructor and the collateral damage to their marriage.
Relying on the criminal record and years of personal journals and photo albums, Lee weaves her perspective as the wife of the accused with the details of the police investigation to create a candid and riveting story of the demise of her marriage after revelations of adultery and criminal sexual conduct.
